Cake Boss

Going along with my last food blog, a great show to watch is Cake Boss.  It’s a great show about a Carlos Bakery in Hoboken New Jersey.  Its run by the famous Buddy Valastro and his Italian family.  Every week this bakery fills hundreds of orders of all kinds of bakery like cakes, and real italian pastries.  The Show, Cake Boss, gives a glimpse of all the things that go on in the Bakery.  The thing they are well known for are their specialty cakes.  You will never see another one like it, any were.  They are the most elaborate cakes I have ever seen.  One of thee cakes, they were able to set it up so it could shoot fireworks.  Another was a fireman cake which had smoke and real sirens and flashing lights.  They are unbelievable.  I would have to say one of my favorite cakes that I have seen them make, was the Leaning Tower of Pisa.  It stood five to six feet tall, and it was so detailed.  I don’t think small is a word in their vocabulary.  They make cakes for all different occasions.

The cakes that are made inside Carlos Bakery are works of art.  So much care and planning goes into each cake, they think of everything.  One thing that amazes me is all the time they spend making flowers.  They usually make them out of modeling chocolate and paint them with eatable coloring.  That way they are eatable, but they look like the real thing.  Its unbelievable.  If you don’t believe me look at the pictures below.  If you ever are in Hoboken, New Jersey make sure to check out Carlos Bakery.   Also check out
